Crater Lake Chapter of D. A. Historic Bank Tour: Step behind the counter of the oldest bank in the Pacific Northwest — Beekman Bank — from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, through Sept. 4, at the Beekman Bank Museum, 110 W. California St, Jacksonville. A costumed docent will tell the stories of 19th Century banking practices, gold shipping, and handshake deals. Begun in 1856 as a gold dust office, it’s the oldest financial institution between San Francisco and Portland. Preserved as a museum since 1915, it saw over $40 million in gold cross its counter during Jacksonville’s heyday in the late 1800s—worth over $1 billion today. Ashland City Band: The community band, conducted by Don Bieghler, will perform at 7 p.m. every Thursday through Aug. 11, in the Butler Band Shell in Ashland’s Lithia Park.
